The brief
A brand-new scientific society had a name, a founding board and a launch date. It needed a home that felt as alive as the ecosystems it studies, and a dashboard its board could run on their own.
01 · The goal
Launch MEsME's first website ahead of its official debut in Muscat: explain the society, welcome founding and new members, and promote the launch conference.
02 · What we built
A fast, accessible Next.js site with a Payload dashboard for events, news, founders and the board, membership applications with CV upload, and a design system drawn from the logo.
03 · The result
Live at mesme.me, with the Muscat launch leading the home page through a live countdown and a QR ticket to registration, and every page editable without a developer.
Phone-first: the same rhythm, type and forms on every screen.

One scroll from curiosity to membership
The home page moves like a field trip: the society and its launch, regional challenges under a microscope lens, what MEsME does, its field sites, the founders, and an open door to join.

A microscope lens over the region
The challenges band shows a field photo slightly out of focus; a ring brings a circle of it into sharp focus under the cursor, like looking down a microscope. On touch screens the lens drifts on its own.

A launch you can count down to
The featured event leads the home page with a live countdown and a QR ticket straight to registration. Ticking Featured in the dashboard is all it takes.

Numbers that roll into place
Founding members and board officers are counted straight from the dashboard and roll in like an odometer as you reach them.

Faces, not logos
Founders and the executive board are profiles with photos, roles and links, managed in the dashboard and ordered by the society.

Applications with a private inbox
Membership applications, CVs included, land in a private dashboard inbox where the board tracks each one and keeps notes.

Built for the phone first
Every page settles into one calm, readable column with the same hairline grid, large type and a clear next step.

Drawn from the logo
The flare orange and teal of the MEsME mark, a scientific mono for labels and data, and hairline rules borrowed from lab notebooks.
